What's New

November 28 - We're excited to show you the latest progress on our bird game. See the video below!

Now start the game by hatching from an egg, and get to play and explore as a baby bird before learning to fly. It's super cute, and it gives a whole new perspective on the world. As a baby gull you'll wind your way through a vegetable garden with carrot tops bigger than you are; as an adult you'll soar over those with ease.

One of the most important life skills for a young gull to learn is how to catch fish. We added fishing to the game, and we're using it as our first collection mechanic. There's a fisherman near the starting area who's looking for specific fish and seashells and will reward you for bringing them. Later in the game you'll catch up with that fisherman in a variety of different places and situations as he searches the world for rare fish.

You can now level-up, grow bigger, and gain new bird abilities. By completing collections you can unlock bird appearance customizations.

A lot of the joy of being a bird is flying around the world, soaring above treetops and then descending to explore each nook and cranny. So we've been fleshing out the open world. The game takes place on and around a volcanic island with lots of verticality. You can catch updrafts to get to high clifftops, then dive down to build speed. You can help a farmer tend his fields, avoid hunters by the lake, or discover the bird shaman's secret residence at the top of a tall spire. We get to fill the world with puzzles, hidden artifacts, new humans to meet and new things to collect.

Finally, we built this as an online multiplayer game from the beginning, and we keep adding to the multiplayer craziness. Birds can stand on each other, carry each other, work together to move heavy objects, make piles, build bridges, tug humans around, drag burning sticks, and set things on fire. They can use strings to play tug-of-war or jump rope. If you can imagine it, it probably works in our multiplayer physics sandbox.

We're having a blast and making great progress, although this is still a part-time project for us as we do co-development work to pay the bills. We're looking for the right publisher for this game, and for dev funding so we can work on this full-time.
